What a Nordik stay includes: cleaning, wifi and more
Cleaning, bed linen and towels, wifi, an equipped kitchen, keyless entry and 24/7 support: everything included in a Nordik stay, and what depends on each property.
Nordik Team · Updated onA Nordik stay includes cleaning of the property, bed linen and towels, wifi, an equipped kitchen (your own in apartments, shared in rooms), 24-hour keyless entry and 24/7 WhatsApp support. Extras such as a desk for remote work, a terrace or the number of beds depend on each property: you'll always find them listed in detail on its page.
This guide answers the question we're asked most before people book: «What do I need to bring, and what will I find there?». The idea is that you arrive with your suitcase and not much else.

Cleaning included
Every property is cleaned and prepared before you arrive: floors, bathroom, kitchen, surfaces and a complete change of bed linen and towels. There's no surprise «cleaning fee» at the end, and you don't have to leave the place exactly as you found it: just leave it in a reasonable state, take the rubbish out and don't leave dirty dishes.
Cleaning during longer stays
If you're staying several weeks or a month, ask us on WhatsApp about mid-stay cleans and linen changes. The terms depend on the property and the length of your stay, so we'll arrange the details with you. In our room houses, the team also keeps an eye on the shared areas so living together stays comfortable.
Bed linen and towels
You'll find the bed made with clean sheets and towels for every guest. No need to bring your own. For the beach, we recommend bringing your own beach towel: that way the property's towels stay for the shower and don't end up full of sand.
Wifi for working and streaming
Every property has wifi included, with the network name and password in your arrival instructions. If you're coming to work remotely, look out for listings that mention a desk: in Malaga city, for example, Nusfjord, in La Malagueta, or Östersund, in Trinidad. For a longer stay, you'll want our guide to living in Malaga for a month as a digital nomad.
If the wifi stops working
First, restart the router by unplugging it for a few seconds. If it still doesn't work, message us on WhatsApp with a photo of the router lights and we'll look into it.
Equipped kitchen
In apartments
The kitchen is all yours: hob, fridge, kitchenware, pans, pots, crockery and cutlery for the number of guests. Specific appliances such as an oven, dishwasher, washing machine or coffee maker vary by property: check the listing if any of them is a must for you. It's ideal for families and groups, as at Kolvereid, for five guests in Pedregalejo, where shopping at the market and cooking at home saves a lot compared with eating out every day.
In Nordik Rooms
Our room houses have a shared, fully equipped kitchen where every guest can make their own meals. It runs on common sense: wash up what you use and leave the worktop the way you'd like to find it. One example is the Geiranger Ikast house in Segalerva, with a desk in the room.
The basics for your first day
There may be a few complimentary basics, but don't expect a fully stocked larder. We recommend picking up oil, salt, coffee and breakfast things at the first supermarket you see when you arrive: in most Malaga neighbourhoods they're open until 21:30–22:00.
Rubbish and recycling
In Malaga the bins are out on the street, not in the building: green or grey for general waste, yellow for packaging, blue for paper and cardboard, and the green igloo for glass. Your arrival instructions tell you where the nearest ones are. Please take your rubbish out before you leave, especially in summer, and don't leave it on the landing or in the entrance hall: it's one of the few things that really bothers the neighbours.
Keyless entry and 24/7 support
Before you arrive you receive your code or Nordikey. You let yourself in at any time from your booking's check-in time, with no reception and no extra charges. We walk you through it in how Nordik keyless access works.
Throughout your stay you have 24/7 WhatsApp support. For things like:
- The code or keypad isn't responding.
- Something isn't working: hot water, air conditioning, appliances.
- Questions about rubbish, recycling or parking in the area.
- Requests such as a later check-out or leaving your bags (always subject to availability).
- Neighbourhood tips: where to eat, which beach is closest, how to get to the centre.
What depends on each property: «see listing»
Not all properties are the same, and we'd rather you knew before you book. These are the features that vary from one to another and that you should check on the listing:
- Number of guests and bed layout.
- Desk or workspace.
- Terrace or balcony (for example, Heidaby in Pedregalejo has a terrace).
- Air conditioning and type of heating.
- Appliances: washing machine, dishwasher, oven, microwave, coffee maker.
- Accessibility: floor, lift and steps.
- Cot or high chair for babies, if available.
- Parking in the area.
If the listing doesn't answer your question, ask us before you book. We'll tell you exactly what's there.
What a Nordik stay doesn't include
- A staffed reception: you don't need one, thanks to keyless entry.
- Breakfast or meals: you have a kitchen to make them.
- Daily hotel-style housekeeping: cleaning is done before arrival and, for long stays, arranged with you.
- Airport transfers: we cover the best options in how to get from Malaga airport to the city centre.
What a Nordik stay includes for your type of trip
Couples' getaway
For two or three nights, what's included covers everything: you arrive, let yourself in with your code, drop your bag and head out for dinner. A small apartment in the centre or Trinidad puts almost everything within walking distance. You don't need to bring anything but your clothes and your charger.
Families and groups
This is where the equipped kitchen makes the difference: breakfast at home, dinner in now and then and sandwiches for the beach. Check the listing for the bed layout, whether a cot is available and whether the property has a washing machine — with kids, you'll be grateful for one from day three.
Remote work and month-long stays
Look for a desk on the listing and ask us about mid-stay cleans and linen changes. A private room can be a budget-friendly option if you're travelling solo and don't mind sharing a kitchen; an apartment gives you more independence for calls at any hour.
What to pack (and what you can leave at home)
- No need to bring: sheets, bath towels, a hairdryer if the listing includes one, kitchen utensils.
- Worth bringing: a beach towel, a plug adapter if you're coming from outside continental Europe (UK and Irish visitors will need one for the two-pin Type C/F sockets), your toiletries and a reusable shopping bag.
- For long stays: laundry detergent if you'll use the washing machine often, and some warm clothes from November to March, because Andalusian homes can feel chilly indoors even when it's sunny outside.

FAQ
Do you have to pay a cleaning fee for a holiday apartment in Malaga?
It depends on the property and the booking platform: some add it separately at the end of the booking process. At Nordik, cleaning is included in your stay and the property is prepared before you arrive. Always check the price breakdown before paying, so you compare the real total cost between options and not just the nightly rate.
Do I need to bring towels to a holiday apartment?
Not at Nordik: you'll find clean bed linen and towels for every guest. We do recommend bringing your own beach towel if you're heading to the beach, so the property's towels stay for the shower. For long stays, ask us on WhatsApp about linen changes during your stay.
Is the wifi in holiday apartments good enough for remote work?
All Nordik properties include wifi, and many are designed for remote work, with a desk shown on their listing. If you rely on video calls, pick one of those and ask us before booking if you need a specific detail. As a plan B, Malaga has plenty of cafés and coworking spaces with good connections.
What's in the kitchen of a shared room house in Malaga?
In Nordik Rooms houses the kitchen is shared and fully equipped for cooking: hob, fridge, kitchenware, crockery and cutlery. Each guest has their own private room with its own lock and shares the kitchen and bathrooms. Living together works with simple rules: clean up after yourself and respect other people's space in the fridge.
What happens if something breaks during my stay?
Message Nordik's WhatsApp support, available 24/7, with a photo or video of the problem. The team will tell you how to fix it or send someone to check. If it was an accident, let us know as soon as possible: it's much easier to sort out during your stay than to discover it after you've left.
