Nordik Team · Updated onFor luggage storage in Malaga you have three main options: the airport left-luggage office (roughly 8:00–20:00), the self-service lockers and partner shops around María Zambrano station, and bag-storage apps such as Stasher, LuggageHero or Radical Storage, which start at around €1.50–5 per bag per day. The best choice depends on where you are and what time you need your bag back.
At Nordik we see this every day: flights landing at 9:00 with an afternoon check-in, or a morning check-out with a late-evening flight. Here's where to leave your bags in Malaga, roughly what it costs and how it fits with our keyless entry.

Left luggage at Malaga airport
Málaga-Costa del Sol airport has a left-luggage service, according to Aena, with approximate opening hours of 8:00 to 20:00. Aena publishes a contact phone number but not the prices, so it's sensible to call or ask at the arrivals information desk before relying on it.
It makes most sense if you have a layover of several hours, or if your flight home leaves in the evening and you want to spend the day in Malaga without your bags: drop them off, take the C-1 train (12 minutes to the centre) and come back in the afternoon. If you land outside those hours, forget this option. Full details on Aena's luggage page for Malaga.

Luggage storage at María Zambrano station
María Zambrano is the high-speed (AVE) and commuter train station, right next to Malaga's main bus station. It's where most people look for somewhere to leave their bags, and where things have changed the most in recent years. The rail operators themselves say there's currently no left-luggage office inside the building for security reasons, while some apps list points «at the station». If in doubt, ask at the Adif information desk when you arrive.
Self-service lockers next to the station
A few minutes' walk away there are self-service locker shops, for example on Calle Héroe de Sostoa and Calle Jovellanos. They work with a code or advance booking: you pick a locker size and pay per day. They're handy because you don't depend on a shop's opening hours, though it's worth checking each site's access times.
App partner shops
Around the station and the adjoining shopping centre there are offices and shops that look after bags through storage apps. You book, drop off your bag, show your code and you're done. Some open early and others close late, which is useful if you arrive on the first high-speed train from Madrid.
Luggage storage apps in Malaga
Storage apps are the most flexible option in the centre: there are drop-off points in Soho, the Alameda, Calle Larios, Plaza de la Merced and around Atarazanas market. Here's how they work:
- Book on the website or app, choosing the location, day and number of bags.
- Pay online by card (shops generally don't take cash).
- Drop off your bag during the shop's opening hours and show your booking.
- Pick it up whenever you like within those same hours.
Approximate prices
- Stasher: from €1.49 per bag per day around María Zambrano, with a guarantee of up to €12,000 per booking.
- LuggageHero: from €1 per hour or €4.90 per bag per day, plus a per-bag service fee.
- Radical Storage: points on Explanada de la Estación and elsewhere, with similar daily prices.
The lowest prices are often promotional and don't always include the service fee. Check the final total before you pay.
What to check before you book
- The shop's closing time: this is the most common slip-up. If it closes at 20:00 and your train leaves at 21:30, it won't work for going straight to the station.
- The real distance: 500 metres with a 23 kg suitcase over the centre's polished cobbles feels a lot longer.
- Cancellation policy: some apps charge if you cancel on the day.
- Valuables: keep your laptop, documents and medication with you.
Luggage storage in Malaga and Nordik stays
Keyless entry: no need to wait for anyone
At Nordik, entry is keyless: before you arrive you get your access code and let yourself in from your booking's check-in time, with no reception or meeting anyone. That means arriving late is no problem, but it also means there's nobody waiting to hold your bags if you arrive early. We explain it step by step in how Nordik keyless access works.
Can I drop my bags off before check-in?
It depends on the day and the property. Before your check-in, the place is cleaned and prepared for you, and sometimes another guest checks out that same morning. That's why we can't guarantee it: it's subject to availability, so ask us on WhatsApp a few days before or on the day and the team will tell you if it's possible. If it isn't, the options in this guide will save your morning.
And on check-out day?
Same thing on departure: if your flight is in the afternoon, ask us on WhatsApp whether you can check out a little later or leave your bags for a while. Sometimes it's possible and sometimes not, because another guest is arriving. It's best to have a plan B with a storage app nearby.
Where to leave your bags depending on where you're staying
- El Perchel and Trinidad: if you're staying at the Elsinor apartment, next to El Perchel, or at Skogar, the María Zambrano area is a short walk away: the self-service lockers on Héroe de Sostoa are the most practical choice.
- Centre: for Oslo, in the historic centre, use an app drop-off point in Soho or by the Alameda and spend the morning seeing the Cathedral or Atarazanas market.
- Rooms in Trinidad: if you book a room such as Mariehamn Olsker, combine luggage storage with a first stroll around the neighbourhood and the Puente de la Aurora bridge.
A bag-free day in Malaga
If you drop your bags off first thing, you can fit in a lot. A typical morning: breakfast in the centre, up to the Alcazaba and Gibralfaro, a stroll along Muelle Uno and tapas in Soho. FAQ
How much does it cost to store luggage in Malaga?
It depends on the option. Storage apps advertise prices from €1.49 per bag per day (Stasher) or €4.90 per day (LuggageHero), sometimes with an extra service fee. Self-service lockers near María Zambrano usually charge per locker per day. There's a left-luggage office at the airport, but Aena doesn't publish prices: you have to call.
Are there lockers at Malaga bus station?
The bus station is right next to María Zambrano, and nearby you'll find self-service lockers and shops partnered with storage apps. Services inside the stations change often, so the safest bet is to book a nearby point in an app in advance or ask at the information desk when you arrive, especially in high season.
Can I leave my bags at my apartment before check-in?
At Nordik it depends on the day: the property is cleaned and prepared before you arrive, and sometimes another guest checks out that same morning. So it's only possible subject to availability. Message us on WhatsApp a few days before or on your arrival day and we'll tell you if it's possible; if not, we'll recommend nearby luggage storage.
Is it safe to leave luggage with a storage app?
The well-known apps work with vetted shops and offer guarantees or insurance up to a maximum amount per booking; Stasher, for example, advertises cover of up to €12,000. Even so, keep your documents, laptop, medication and valuables with you, take a photo of your bag and its security tag, and save your booking code.
What time does the left-luggage office at Malaga airport open?
According to the information published by Aena, the airport's left-luggage service runs roughly from 8:00 to 20:00. Outside those hours you can't drop off or collect bags, so if you land at night or your flight leaves in the early hours, look for an alternative in the centre or call ahead first.
